In keeping with the ongoing temperatures, the number of records being set each month this summer refuses to drop below the mid-twenties. There were 14 brand new records, four records consolidated and six changing hands for a grand total of 24 in July so grab yourself a cool drink and let’s crack on with what may be my last ever Club Record Roundup!
Shining Like The Sun
Congratulations to the archers setting brand new records this month:
- Adrian Jones set a new club record for Barebow Open 50+ Bristol III and Longbow Open 50+ Frostbite
- Adrian Smith set a new club record for Recurve Open 50+ American
- Clark Lambert set a new club record for Barebow Open Bristol IV
- Debbie Young set a new club record for Compound Female 50+ Bristol III
- Greg Lawrence set a new club record for Longbow Open 50+ National 40
- Holly Smith set a new club record for Barebow Female U18 Frostbite and Longbow Female U18 National 30
- Lilly Adlam set a new club record for Recurve Female U18 National
- Llinos Edgeley set a new club record for Longbow Female 50+ Frostbite
- Lynsey Tucker set a new club record for Compound Female Bristol III
- Maria Fox set a new club record for Recurve Female 50+ American
- Mark Wild set a new club record for Barebow Open Bristol II
- Ron Hodges set a new club record for Compound Open 50+ Frostbite
Raising The Temperature
Posting own-record-beating numbers this month:
- Holly Smith bettered her record score for Barebow Female U18 National 40
- Jim Wild tightened his grip on the record score for Barebow Open 50+ Bristol II
- Luke Halladay increased his record score for Recurve Open WA 1440 (70m)
- Mark Wild strengthened his record score for Barebow Open National 40
Heated Rivalries
The Down Under dust-up continued this month as the hotly contested Recurve Open Geelong record changed hands once again, with Craig Haywood reclaiming it from Luke Halladay who had snatched it from him at the very end of June. Elsewhere Jim Wild and Adrian Smith were in predatory mood, with Jim taking the Barebow Open 50+ National 50 and Barebow Open 50+ Western 50 records from Ray Weston while Adrian Smith relieved Richard Niemiec of the Recurve Open 50+ Bristol III record and Greg Lawrence of the Recurve Open 50+ WA 50m (122cm Face) record. Last but not least, Mike Kemp added another record to his collection, taking the Compound Open 50+ National record from longtime holder Ron Hodges.
