April saw light showers of records, with two brand new records, three changing hands and four record holders shoring up their positions before competition intensifies over the summer.
Spring Cleaning
Luke Halladay and Ruth Johnson were busy putting a fresh coat of paint on their existing records, as Luke increased his record scores for Men’s Recurve National 40, Men’s Recurve National 50 and Men’s Recurve Windsor and Ruth bettered her own score for 50+ Women’s Windsor.
Spring Forward
Records are there to be broken and three records were this month, as Mark Wild took Men’s Barebow WA 50m (122cm face) from current holder Dave Adlam, while Debbie Young surrended the 50+ Women’s Compound Bray I to Karen Williams and Adrian Smith relieved Greg Lawrence of the 50+ Men’s Recurve Long National record score.
Green Shoots
Mike Kemp rounds out this month’s round-up as the only archer to set brand new records in the month of April, setting benchmark scores for 50+ Men’s American Flatbow Portsmouth and 50+ Men’s Compound Bray I.
And so that’s the round-up for this month. If you want to see your name here in May, get shooting, get scoring and – most importantly of all – get your scores into recordsofficer@talismanbowmen.com!
