Can you believe it’s been a whole year since the first Club Record Roundup?
May might traditionally be the month for gathering nuts, but for the members of Talisman Bowmen it’s apparently for gathering records as ten new records were set, three changed hands and eleven were shored up with increased scores.
Out With The Old
We’ll start this month with the usurpers as Mark Wild took both the Men’s Barebow National and Men’s Barebow Western records from previous holder Dave Adlam and Karen Williams overtaking Debbie Young’s 50+ Women’s Western 50 record score.
In With The New
Setting brand new benchmarks this month, Marianne Damoiseau set a new Women’s Barebow National record and then set and bettered a Women’s Barebow Western Record in May, a feat equalled by Debbie Young who also set and then bettered a club record for 50+ Women’s Compound WA 50m (122cm Face).
Matilda Tucker debuted in the club record books with a new Women’s Barebow National 40 record; Adrian Smith set a 50+ Men’s Recurve Bristol II benchmark; Mike Kemp set a brace of new club records for 50+ Men’s Longbow Frostbite and 50+ Men’s Longbow Metric 122-30 and rounding out the new entries this month, Llinos Edgely scooped a hattrick of records, taking the 50+ Women’s Longbow St Nicholas, 50+ Women’s Warwick 40 and 50+ Women’s Longbow Windsor 50.
Holding Firm
Records may be made to be broken, but they’re also there to be retained, as demonstrated by:
Marianne Damoiseau increasing her Women’s Barebow National 50 record, Ruth Johnson bettering her 50+ Women’s Barebow National record, Lynsey Tucker upping her Women’s Compound National 50 score. Maria Fox further secured her grip on the record for 50+ Women’s Recurve Western 40 and Adrian Smith increased his records for both 50+ Men’s National and 50+ Men’s National 50. And last but by no means least this month, Llinos Edgeley added to her hattrick of new records with a pair of increased scores, for 50+ Women’s Longbow National 30 and National 40 while Luke Halladay joined in on the hattricks by boosting his existing record scores for Men’s Recurve Bristol III, Men’s Recurve National 50 and Men’s Recurve Western.
And so that’s the round-up for this month. If you want to see your name here in June, get shooting, get scoring and – most importantly of all – get your scores into recordsofficer@talismanbowmen.com! If you don’t submit ’em, I can’t report ’em.
