With the weather turning colder and the nights drawing in, September saw only a handful of outdoor records set but the race to set new indoor records is already starting to heat up. New records set this month reflect Talisman Archers being out and about with records being set at Southampton Archery Club, Bay House Gosport, The Marston Arrow and Lillieshaw.
Congratulations to September’s new record setters who not only increased the club’s records footprint but made me have to add new rounds to our record keeping app!
- Craig Haywood set the club’s first Barebow Men Double WA Clout 165m record,
- Marianne Damoiseau set the club’s first Barebow Men 50+ Double WA Clout 125m record,
- Richard Heathcote set the club’s first Barebow Men 50+ Double WA Clout 165m record,
- Lee Guerrier set the club’s first Compound Men 50+ National 50 record and the club’s first Compound Men 50+ Portsmouth (Triple Face) record,
- Debbie Young set the club’s first Compound Women 50+ Metric 80-30 record and the club’s first Compound Women 50+ Warwick 50 record,
- Llinos Edgeley set the club’s first Longbow Women 50+ WA 18m record and the club’s first Longbow Women 50+ Worcester record,
- and finally Adrian Smith set the club’s first Recurve Men 50+ Double WA Clout 165m record
Elsewhere, Mark Wild consolidated his hold on his Barebow Men National 30 record, as did Richard Heathcote with his Barebow Men 50+ Western score, Debbie Young with her Compound Women 50+ Bristol II record and Luke Halladay with his Recurve Men Windsor 50 record score.
Four records changed hands, with Debbie Young taking the Compound Women 50+ Portsmouth record from Karen Williams and Jim Wild relieving Adrian Jones of his Barebow Men 50+ National 30. Luke Halladay and Stuart Chatwin traded blows with Luke taking Stuart’s Recurve Men National 50 record and Stuart returning the favour by taking Luke’s Recurve Men WA 18m record.
Club records on the website have now been updated as of scores reported by 30 September 2025. The next records update will be in early October so happy shooting and for those with specific records in their sights, happy hunting!
Scores can be reported to recordsofficer@talismanbowmen.com and the full table of current records can be found here.
