With the outdoor season in full swing, May brought a bumper crop of club records, with some record holders tightening their grips on existing records, some brand-new club records and even a few records changing hands. Ladies and gentlemen, start those rivalries!
May saw brand new club records set for:
- Barebow Mens Long Warwick (Mark Wild)
- Barebow Mens 50+ WA 50m (122cm Face) (Jim Wild)
- Barebow Mens U21 National 20 (Daniel Holton)
- Barebow Womens National 50 (Marianne Damoiseau)
- Compound Womens Western (Lynsey Tucker)
- Longbow Womens 50+ National 40 (Llinos Edgeley)
- Recurve Mens WA 1440 (70m) (Luke Halladay)
- Recurve Mens 50+ Metric 80-40 (Adrian Smith)
- Recurve Womens 50+ WA Standard Round (Maria Fox)
- Recurve Womens 50+ Western 50 (Maria Fox).
The toughest competitor you’ll ever face is yourself, so congratulations to the following archers who beat their toughest opponent this month:
- Dave Allen surpassed his own record on Barebow Mens 50+ Long National and Barebow Mens 50+ Long Warwick
- Ruth Johnson increased her score for the Barebow Womens 50+ Western record
- Alice Holton increased the Barebow Womens U14 National 30 record score
- Luke Halladay tightened his grip on the Recurve Mens Bristol IV, Recurve Mens National 50 and Recurve Mens Western club records.
- Greg Lawrence cemented the existing Recurve Mens 50+ Long National record
- And Adrian Smith increased his scores for the Recurve Mens 50+ National 50, Recurve Mens 50+ National 40 and Recurve Mens 50+ Western records.
And finally, the following records changed hands this month…
Craig Haywood took the Recurve Mens Warwick 50 Club Record from Luke Halladay and, keeping it in the family, Pheobe Haywood also took the Recurve Womens U14 Warwick 30 club record from Ellie Adlam. Adrian Smith was also in predatory mood, taking both the Recurve Mens 50+ Long Warwick and the Recurve Mens 50+ National from Greg Lawrence.
Club records on the website have now been updated as of 31 May 2025. The next records update will be in early July so happy shooting!
