With Hunts Pond Road still out of action due to near biblical levels of rain, indoor rounds once again dominate February’s round-up. Eleven records were set in all (well, it’s a short month, isn’t it?), five and a half* new, two and a half* consolidated and three changing hands.
* All will be made clear below
As it by now traditional, let’s kick off with the new club records which have been set, so February felicitations to:
- Lily Adlam, who set a brace of records: Women’s U18 Recurve Bray I and Women’s U18 Recurve Vegas.
- Mike Kemp, who set the Men’s 50+ Longbow Bray I and Men’s 50+ Compound WA 18m (Triple Face).
- Lynsey Tucker, who set the Women’s Compound Portsmouth (Triple Face).
- And finally, the mysterious “half” is Adrian Smith who set a brand new record for Men’s 50+ Bray I only to consolidate it with a higher score five days later (the other “half”).
Other records which saw their current holders tighten their grip were Adrian Smith and Llinos Edgeley, using the motivation of open competition to increase their existing record scores for Men’s 50+ Recurve Double Portsmouth and Women’s 50+ Longbow Double Portsmouth respectively.
In addition to setting two new records, Bowstyle Polymath Mike Kemp also took two records, overtaking Jim Wild’s Men’s 50+ Barebow Bray I record and Daniel Hawley’s Men’s 50+ Longbow Portsmouth records; and rounding out this month’s round-up is Mark Wild who secured the Men’s Barebow Stafford record from previous holder Dave Adlam.
That’s the round-up for this month. If you want to see your name here in March, get shooting, get scoring and get your scores into recordsofficer@talismanbowmen.com!
