Talisman 252 Update
So far we’ve awarded 22 252 badges. Well done to you all for having achieved your goals and here’s wishing you every success with the next one!
It’s great to see how you’ve engaged with the improvement scheme and it’s even better to see your smiles when you’ve just got that golden score – excellent! I think it’s a good way to give a bit of direction to your shooting and it certainly seems to be good for swiftly building confidence at a new distance, which is a very strong building block. Don’t forget, as you work through your 252s, use the opportunity to focus on your form a bit (that does not mean analyse!), determine which bits are working well and where you might need a tweak or have a question. It’s good to do that, you may do it already, but often it’s easy to “just shoot” and not consider your form and how it’s doing. Of course, that ties in nicely with the 252 as a development/improvement scheme as having a look at your form and addressing anything you think needs an improvement will help you to reach your goals – bingo!
From feedback among those shooting a 252, we took the right decision on making it three scores to get your badge, people don’t want to shoot the “only one score required” approach that many other clubs adopt, recognising that to be a bit flawed. Members are enjoying the greater achievement of three qualifying scores and the way in which that better confirms the improvement in their shooting.
The 252 results are now posted in the results area, so you can check on how you’re doing (and you can see how everyone else is doing too if you’d like).
I believe that Richard has the fastest growing collection so far, having already achieved badges from 20 to 60 yards! Well done for that Richard! Of course, progress may slow a bit as he shifts out to 80 yards! 😉
So, if you’re thinking of having a go, or pondering on whether you’ll make it at the next distance – go for it, you’ll be glad you did 🙂
