Last Sunday of each month…
When we go outdoors the typical format is that members meeting on the field discuss what they’d like to shoot and targets get set up accordingly. That means that anyone can, pretty much, get to shoot what they want to shoot – all good. But…
…we thought that this outdoor season we’d add something new and, on the last Sunday of each month, do something specific. We might shoot a set of particular rounds, for example a Bristol, which has iterations of distance that ensure there will be something for everyone. We may have an informal friendly competition among ourselves, have some kind of Fun Shoot, have a session attempting to take and break club records – who knows, but the idea is that the themed days may provide something for those who can’t get along each week, provide additional social opportunities by getting more people along and generally add something different to our calendar.
If you have an idea for something you think should be considered let me, Derek, know and it’ll get into the melting pot.
In the height of the summer (yeah, you remember, we had them when we were smaller) we might also consider adding a bring-your-own picnic, so members and families can enjoy a picnic together once the shooting’s done.
