Junior Tournament Update….
All good news! We hit the thirty entries mark just before Christmas, which put us nicely ahead of the game on entries compared to previous years and there are more entries coming so, we should have a nice, well-attended event to offer our local juniors a good competitive event.
As we have a few weeks to go, if you see an opportunity to promote the event please continue to put the word out.
Talisman juniors – if you’ve not entered yet do have a think about it, it’s not a big scary event, it’s a friendly club thing, so if you’ve not been out to a competition yet it would be an ideal way to get a taste of what it’s all about and to get some experience under your belt. No one in the club will have any expectations, just go and do what you can do and have some fun doing it, it’s a perfect way to put a toe in the water if you fancy having a go.
Now we need…
Volunteers – We have to set up the main sports hall at Brookfield on the morning of the event. We’ll need to bring targets, stands and other equipment from the container by the gym to the sports hall, set up the nets, stands, targets and the like, bring in and set up chairs for the spectators and so on. Typically, Martyn will make a call for volunteers on a Wednesday session before the event, please be ready to put your hand up if you’re happy to help.
Raffle prizes – Please can you think about donating a prize to the raffle, the more the merrier (a way to get rid of those unwanted Xmas gifts!) I believe there are people out there who think raffles are a bit of a drag but, it will add to club funds and more importantly it gives everyone something to do while Dean and his crew sort out the results!
