Happy New Year!
Here’s to a 2016 full of great archery!
This is the perfect time to think about the year ahead, consider any archery goals you may have, perhaps you want to up your score a bit, become great at grouping or attain a particular Archery GB Classification – the world’s your oyster as they say. Whatever your goal don’t be shy of asking Martyn and Malcolm for their advice and don’t forget that just talking about your intentions with other members can bring support and inspiration!
As a club we look forward to a good year. Already, our first beginners’ course of 2016 is full, which is a nice start to the year! We have some ideas in mind for when we go outdoors and may introduce some sessions that include a fun or competitive aspect (nothing onerous!), we may also look at giving a round theme to some Sunday shoots – all under discussion right now, but keep an eye on the news blog for updates.
Don’t forget…
This is your club, use the facilities available to you in terms of shooting and coaching opportunities to get what you want to get out of it, whether that’s the enjoyment of a relaxed recreational shoot or the challenge of reaching “Grand Master Bowman”, the club provides your foundation. And, if you have any ideas, do share them with committee members so they can be discussed and implemented. Similarly, if you have any ideas for a social event (archery or non-archery) drop Caroline an e-mail at socialsec@talismanbowmen.com.
The main thing…
Enjoy your archery and have a great 2016!
PS. Don’t forget to book your place(s) and food for the skittles evening on the 22nd January and to make your nominations for the Chairman’s award. Or that shooting starts again at West Hill on Monday 4th and at brookfield on Wednesday 6th
